You know when you're 13 and you're lying on your bed and you're already planning it. Your wedding. And it's not going to be like anyone else's. It's going to have every colour. Every flower. Everyone showing up in the most unhinged, brightest, most joyful outfit they own. There's going to be dancing. There's going to be so much joy it's almost embarrassing.
And then you grow up. And people tell you to keep it elegant.
Keep it simple. Keep it classic.
Ann did not keep it classic.
We got to draw her whole world by hand: their house, their cat Lucy, every stripe and cherry and champagne tower — into every single piece of paper on the day. Invitations. Menus. Programmes. Signs. All of it illustrated from scratch, made only for this one wedding that looked exactly like that 13 year old always knew it would.
Pure freaking joy. With some heartfelt moments in between.
